Police catch hold of drug paddlers in Handwara amid stone pelting | KNO

3 arrested, another manages to flee, two more arrested for resorting to stone throwing

Handwara, July 06 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three persons along a good quantity of brown-sugar while as another one managed to escape from the spot amid stone pelting at the scene at Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kuwpara district today. According to KNO, a police spokesperson said that, Naka was laid at By Pass Handwara a person was spotted in suspicious condition after seeing police and tried to escape but with timely action police managed to arrest the person. “On investigating it was found that the person was carrying Brown sugar which was seized, the accused was taken into custody along two other associates who stone pelted over the police party intending to kill them,” the police spokesman said. He said that police have arrested three persons one along with Brown Sugar and other two in connection with stone pelting intending to kill police personals  while discharging duties, while one of their associate who managed to escape from the scene was identified as, Javaid Ahmad Mir, S/O Abdul Kabir a resident of Sadargund Handwara, spokesperson said.  The spokesman further said that, two persons have been arrested in connection of attempt to kill on duty police officials and one under drug peddling, NDPS act,  Accordingly a FIR, 173/2019, U/S 8/21 NDPS act, 174/2019 U/S 307,341,353 RPC stands registered in Police station Handwara, subsequently search for the absconder is going on  and further probe  has been launched.
